The finalists in the SFA National Small Business Awards 2016 have been officially announced by AJ Noonan, SFA Chairman and Chair of the Awards Judging Panel, with SOUTHERN TAPES & PACKAGING announced as a contender for 2016’s Sustainability Award.
Speaking about the Awards AJ Noonan said:
The SFA National Small Business Awards are now entering their twelfth year and I could not be more proud to be part of such a prestigious awards programme. The companies that have been announced as finalists this year represent all that is good about small business. The people behind these companies are dynamic, diligent and determined,
The aim of the awards is to celebrate the achievements of small business in Ireland, and to recognise the vital contribution of the small business sector to Irish industry. Southern Tapes & Packaging have been nominated as finalists for their work in developing the eco food packaging aspect of their business called Down2Earth Materials. Established in 2009 to supply local food producers with a small range of eco packaging options, STP have grown it into a business that now supplies the largest range of compostable catering disposables to over 400 businesses throughout Ireland.
In 2014 Down2Earth Materials proudly won an IRISH REPAK AWARD for its commitment to the education and implementation of eco-conscious packaging in Ireland, and everyone at STP is hoping to have a shiny, new SFA award to add to their trophy cabinet in 2016!
